Summary: Mr. Vukicevich enters the fold as Principal of St. Francis Solano for the Fall of 2009.
Mr.
Vukicevich entered the fold as Principal of St. Francis Solano in the
Fall of 2009. He comes to us from Cardinal Newman High School where he
has guided their students for the past 17 years. While at Newman, Mr.
Vukicevich served as the Head of the Counseling Department, taught a
wide variety of classes in the Science and English departments, organized the graduation proceedings as Senior
Moderator, served in many administrative roles, coached the Golf Team to the Northern California
Championship, two berths at the State Championship, as well as two straight North Coast Section
championships and three NBL titles. He also coached basketball, track and football during his time there. He is a graduate of Cal Poly SLO,
where he was member of two NCAA championship track teams as a
Decathlete. Mr. Vukicevich has served as Board President of the Kenwood
Elementary School District. Prior to his employment at Newman, he
taught and coached at San Francisco State and Sonoma State
Universities, as well as Palma High School in Monterey County. Matt and
his wife of 27 years, Eileen, live in Kenwood with their daughter
Lauren, who is a senior at Ursuline HS. They also have two sons, Eric, who just graduated from Cal Poly, and Dano, a junior at Colorado State. Mr.
Vukicevich earned his Master's degree and teaching credential from San
Francisco State, as well as his Secondary Counseling Certification from
UC San Diego. He also loves to ride bikes, hike, kayak, surf, play
volleyball, basketball, tennis and golf, and most recently,
nine-square !
