Enrollment applications are available in the school office.  Most commonly asked questions are answered below. For further information or to schedule a campus tour, please call the school office at 707-996-4994.

• St Francis School is a K-8 school.
• If there is a waiting list for a particular grade, first priority will be given to existing school families, followed by members of St. Francis & St. Leo's Parishes, followed by transfer students from other Catholic schools/parishes, then the general public. For kindergarten, enrollment slots will be awarded on a first come, first served basis, provided that the student is deemed ready for kindergarten after the screening process.


ENROLLMENT PROCESS

Kindergarten Requirements
• Child must be 5 years old by November 2nd.
• Gesell screening for developmental readiness is required of all candidates, regardless of age.
• Screening will occur as enrollment applications are received.
* An interview with the Kindergarten teacher, and either the Principal is required.
• Screening fee is $60.00

First Grade Screening
• Will occur February 26-March 2
• Screening fee is $60.00

Student Interviews

• Students considering admission to grades 6-8 will have an interview with the Principal and/or appropriate faculty member. Report card copy is required at the time of the interview.
• An interview may also be required for each 1st -5th grade student, along with his/her parents, with the appropriate faculty member.

Observing Classes
• Parents are welcome to observe a class. However, prior arrangements must be made through the school office, (707) 996-4994. Students may also shadow another student in his or her grade for a full or a half day during the transfer admissions process. Arrangements may be made through the front office.

Class Size
• Current class sizes in the lower division range from 16-30 students.  Our upper division homerooms contain 22 to 36 students.  Students are split into smaller groupings throughout the day for core classes.  
• All grades work in small groups. Kindergarten through 4th grade benefit from teachers' aides.




Uniforms

• All students are required to wear uniforms which may be purchased at Dennis Uniform, Target or other stores. Other uniform wear and official school sweatshirts and fleece wear are also available here at school.

Religion

• St. Francis Solano School admits students of any religion, race, color, racial and ethnic origin.
• All students are required to participate in religious instructions and attend Mass with their class when scheduled. We ask non-Catholics to be respectful during any Catholic service.

Before and After School Care

• Supervised care in the Children's center is available from  3:00-5:30 p.m., Mon. - Fri.
• Fees for after-school care are in addition to tuition, currently at $ 3.75 per hour.
