Father Michael Kelly
Father
Mike grew up the youngest of ten children in County Donegal, Ireland.
Prior to being ordained, he taught high school math in Ireland and Canada. He
attended All Hallows College Seminary in Dublin and was ordained in
Ireland in 1981. Father Mike has worked as a priest in Napa, Humboldt and Sonoma
Counties. As the Pastor of St. Francis, Father Mike welcomes you to our Parish family. Check out

School CounselorMrs. Jane MertensMrs.
Mertens provides consultation to parents, students and teachers. She
works with the individual students and groups of students for a variety
of reasons including conflict resolution, social skills development,
self-esteem building, and stress management. She is also available to
parents who need assistance with parenting concerns. Mrs. Mertens has
been a counselor at St. Francis for over 14 years. She also has a
private practice in Sonoma. She lives in Sonoma with her husband and
two children. Prior to working at St. Francis, Mrs. Mertens provided
counseling services at Hanna Boys Center, as well as, several schools
in the Bay Area. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from
UC Berkeley and her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling
from Sonoma State University and is a licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist.

Casciani has been at St. Francis since 1997. She wears many hats and
performs so many jobs that Superwoman would be amazed! Prior to coming
to St. Francis, Mrs. Casciani had over 20 years of office
administration and secretarial experience. She worked for the Sonoma
Fire Department, United Airlines and Wells Fargo Bank Head Office in
San Francisco.

it’s helping children with skinned knees and upset tummies or answering
phones and interacting with parents, teachers and administration, Mrs.
Lely has a knack for making everyone feel special and important. The
expression, “never a dull moment” surely describes a typical day in our
school office. Prior to joining the office staff, she worked five years
as a teacher’s aide for Kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grades at St. Francis.

Peters joined our staff in the spring of 2006 as the primary Business Manager, and brings a wealth of experience in accounting to St.
Francis Solano School. She is available in the office three days per
week.
