Before her appointment as Assistant Principal, Ms. Smith taught science, math and a variety of electives including Italian and String Theory at St. Francis. She still teaches two periods of 5th-grade science each day. Ms. Smith came to St. Francis in 2001 after teaching math and being the 8th grade homeroom teacher at St. Paul of the Shipwreck School in San Francisco. Prior to her teaching career, Ms. Smith lived in Humboldt County where she worked in a microbiology laboratory. She has a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, teaching credentials in science, math, music, and a credential in Educational Leadership.
